How Palmetto Website Design Was Started
My name is Chris Ballard and I started Palmetto Website Design in 2006. I was in charge of creating and maintaining my church's website and a friend asked me if I had considered designing websites on the side. My friend knew several businesses that needed websites at affordable prices. I was asked to work up a quote and get back in touch with them.
During my research of 'what to charge' I was surprised to learn how much prices varied and how expensive the prices were. I was particularly amazed when one design company assured me that a home page and a page of pictures would cost at least $1000 dollars! From my research, I came to the oppinion that some companies were taking advantage of people that didn't know how inexpensive having a website could be if only they were treated fairly. That's when I decided to create Palmetto Website Design and offer local individuals, businesses, and churches the opportunity to get a great website at an affordable price.
Why You Should Choose Palmetto Webiste Design
You WILL get a great website at an affordable price. Why are the prices so much lower than other design companies? For a couple of reasons: 1) I'm not trying to make a living by designing websites. At my full time job I'm a Senior Programmer for a local software development company. 2) Other design companies charge way too much.
What Makes Me Qualified?
I have BS in Computer Information Systems from Winthrop University and over twelve years experience in application design, programming, and implementations. Some of my technical skills include working with DB2 and SQL Server databases, and programming in COBOL, C++, Visual Basic, C#, ASP, ASP.NET and the .NET Frameworks. My current job is designing and implementing the web enablement of a desktop application. That's probably a lot more than you wanted to know!
